Description

The Garden House, located 50 metres north of No 7, is an 18th-century structure, likely designed by Nathaniel Ireson. It is built from local stone ashlar and is set into a red brick wall that forms the northern boundary of the garden for No 7. This wall is approximately 30 metres long, about 2.5 metres high, and features a flat ashlar coping. The garden house is positioned almost centrally and is recessed into the field behind, making its stone front with a portico, three architraved openings, a simple entablature with insteps, and a pediment with a finial nearly flush with the wall. As of January 1984, the house is unroofed. To the east of the summerhouse, there are some half-round and segmental arched openings in the garden wall.
