Description

Gowrie, Little Court, and Iona are three houses built around 1840, each featuring a forward-facing gable. The front of the houses is finished in painted render, while the rear is constructed from rubblestone and tile-hung on the upper stories. They have shallow-pitched slate roofs with brackets at the front and brick stacks located at the valleys and end slopes. The houses have a double-depth plan with late 19th-century additions at the rear. Their design is in an unusual Picturesque style, resembling gabled villas.

Each house is two stories tall with attics and has a symmetrical two-window arrangement. The first-floor windows are 8/8-pane sash windows, while the ground floor features 10/10-pane windows. There are various small windows in the attics, and the central house has two 20th-century windows on the first floor. The windows of Gowrie have been replaced with late 20th-century versions. Each house has a trellised porch with a pediment over a studded door. To the far left and right, there are small set-back painted rubblestone ranges with late 19th-century windows. The interiors have not been inspected.

Additionally, there is a rubblestone outhouse and high garden walls at the rear that enclose the back gardens.
