Description

The Old Presbytery and Corner Cottage are likely the result of an older house, dating to the 18th century with alterations in the early 19th century. The construction uses painted render over rubble stone, with a crested plain tile roof, exposed rafter ends, a hipped design, a small gable, and brick stacks to the gable ends, left front slope, and right eaves. The building has a double-depth plan.

Corner Cottage occupies the right-hand section and includes entrances to both the front and right return. It has 20th-century two-light casement windows. The Presbytery section presents a virtually symmetrical three-window facade to Church Street, featuring a tiled lean-to porch in the center. It has two-light casement windows on the first floor, a 19th-century two-light casement window to the left of the front door, and a 20th-century window to the right.

The rear elevation is three stories high, with three 3/6-pane sash windows on the second floor, 6/6-pane sashes on the first floor, and a 19th-century tall 3-light window on the ground floor, featuring four vertical panes to each leaf, to the right.

The interior reveals a through passage and a studded wall to the left (now covered), suggesting a former three-unit plan. The 19th-century three-light window on the ground floor has panelled shutters. A staircase from the 18th century remains, with fretted ends and traces of former stick balusters.

Attached rubblestone walls, approximately 40 meters long, border the tapered rear garden and terminate at a rubblestone outhouse measuring approximately 3 meters by 3.5 meters.
