Description
The standpipe located at the south-east corner of the Dolphin Public House in Ilminster dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands approximately 1 meter high. The standpipe features a moulded cornice and a conical knob at the top, with a fluted shaft that has a hollow moulding and a pulvinated disc at the base, which is set on a square base. There are two outlets located at the center and top of the shaft on the south side. This standpipe is positioned above an underground stream and is included for its group value.
