Description
No. 35 Silver Street is a house that has been converted into two shops. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The exterior features incised stucco and a double-Roman pantile roof, with a truncated brick stack on the left gable end. The building has a three-unit through-passage plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. The first floor includes horizontal three-light casements with 20th-century plate glass, while the right side has 19th-century shop windows framed by pilasters. The ground floor features 20th-century doors on the sides and a door to the left of centre that provides access to the flat above. Inside, there is a wide planked door with strap hinges at the rear of the passage, along with an under-stair cupboard that has an H-L hinge to the right. Some early 18th-century two-panel doors are still present on the first floor. The roof has not been seen.
