Description
This is a sewer ventilation pipe from the second half of the 19th century, located on the pavement next to the south-west corner of 18 Hill Street. The pipe is tall and tapering, made of cast iron. It features a moulded base and a two-part column, with the lower section adorned with decorative spiral binding. A collar with mouldings hides the joint and is decorated on two sides with the Borough coat of arms, which includes three scallop shells and a heraldic dolphin with a wavy bar below, all in relief. The upper part of the column is plain, and the ventilator cap is missing.
