Description

This is an early 18th-century house, later divided into two shops at numbers 96 and 96A High Street, Poole. It has been altered in the mid-20th century with new shop fronts. The house is constructed of pale brick with darker red brick dressings, and a slate roof. It follows a double-depth plan. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window front. A plat band runs beneath a parapet featuring sunken panels with paired round arches. The upper windows are late 19th-century plate-glass sash windows with horns, set within flush frames, and have gauged brick flat arches above. Decorated rainwater hoppers are located at each end of the building. The interior retains an upper flight of 18th-century stairs, although the ground floor has been altered.
