Description

This is a former Baptist chapel, dating to around 1815, with alterations made around 1879 and further changes in the 20th century. More recently, around 2020, it was converted into an outreach centre. The building is constructed from brick with terracotta dressings and a concrete tiled pitched roof. It has a rectangular plan.

The building is two storeys high, with pedimented gable ends to both the north-west and south-east elevations. The front elevation (south-east) has slightly recessed corners. A late 19th-century terracotta moulded pediment, containing an oculus dated 1815, sits above a triple round-arched window with architrave, keys and imposts. A similar moulded pediment, supported by pilasters, fronts a late 19th-century porch. A mid-20th-century door surround has an architrave framing a two-leaf, eight-panel door. The original three-door entrance has been blocked, and the central doorway is now obscured by the porch.

Internally, the south gallery was rebuilt around 1879 when an organ recess and vestries were added to the west end. During the conversion into an outreach centre, the interior was refitted and the original pews removed.
