Description
Number 91 is a house and shop with a rear warehouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It has been extended to the rear and altered in the late 19th century. The building features Flemish bond brickwork, brick lateral stacks, and a hipped Welsh slate roof, forming an L-plan with a late 19th-century right wing. It stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range on the front and a three-window side range.
A notable feature is the fine late 19th-century shop front, which includes moulded cast-iron columns supporting a fascia, along with curved plate-glass windows that have thin mullions. The first and second floors have plate-glass sashes with gauged brick flat arches above. The right-hand return has gauged brick arches over its sashes, while the taller rear section features a 10/10-pane sash and a rear warehouse range set back, which has two to three windows with segmental-arched openings and hoist bays for the middle pair, along with a straight joint between the sections.
The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there is an attached rear wall that encloses the yard in front of the warehouse. The shop front is considered a notable example of its kind.
