Description

Spar Grocers is a house with an inserted double shopfront, dating from the early 19th century, with a late 19th-century shopfront. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a 20th-century slate roof with brick stacks. The building is two stories tall and has three bays. The first floor has sash windows with marginal glazing bars, set under painted lintels with keystones. The ground floor contains two late 19th-century shop windows, flanked by fluted pilasters and a central pedimented doorcase. The doorcase includes a frieze of triglyphs and a 20th-century glazed door.
