Description

Fortgate is a house from the 18th century, constructed of red sandstone random rubble with a hipped slate roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high and has a basement, featuring three bays. The house includes 16-pane sash windows and a central doorway adorned with a broken pediment and fluted Tuscan columns. Above the doorway is a tracery fanlight, and the entrance is a six-panel door accessed by a short flight of steps from the right, which is complemented by 20th-century wrought iron railings.
