Description

The war memorial in Embsay with Eastby was built in 1921 and is made of gritstone. It has a square plan and is raised on three steps that support a large square base. The north face of the memorial is inscribed with the words "OUR GLORIOUS DEAD," along with the dates 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. The other faces feature the names of those who died. At the top of the memorial is a stylised Saxon cross. The memorial was unveiled on August 21, 1921.
