Description
Green Field House is a farmhouse, later adapted as a house, dating back to the 17th century with early 19th-century rebuilding and 20th-century alterations. Built of dressed stone with a stone slate roof, it has a garden front with two storeys and four bays. A gabled porch from around 1970 is situated in the second bay, containing a plank door. The left-hand ground floor window has a plain surround, and a sash window fitted in around 1970. To the right of the ground floor are two early 20th-century two-light sash windows flanking a French window, also with a sash window fitted around 1970. The upper floor has three three-light double-chamfered mullioned windows and two small single-light chamfered windows positioned above the entrance. Gable end ridge stacks are also present. The interior features a king post roof truss in the left-hand room. Attached to the left is a barn with a reset lintel inscribed with “CIB 1656”.
