Description

Prospect House is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Azerley Lane, Galphay. The house is constructed of coursed gritstone with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows, with lean-to additions on either side. The central entrance features a half-glazed four-panel door with a keyed lintel and a gabled hood. The flanking ground-floor and first-floor windows are 20th-century top-hung casements set in original sawn-stone surrounds. The roof has shaped kneelers, coping, and end stacks. The flanking lean-to additions have segmental recesses; the right-hand lean-to includes an inserted 20th-century garage door and a raised roof. A previous listing description noted that the central first-floor window was blocked. The house is included on the list for group value.
