Description
Mouseham is a late 18th-century house, with a possible earlier section to the right, and early 20th-century alterations to the left return. The house is constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof and stone end and ridge stacks. It has a 3-window front, set at a right angle to the street. The main facade faces south, toward the garden. A glazed door is centrally positioned, protected by an open-pedimented stone hood supported on shaped stone brackets. The ground floor has 12-pane unhorned sash windows with plain stone surrounds on either side of the door, and the first floor has matching sash windows. A two-storey, two-bay wing extends to the right, featuring irregular casement windows. The left return, facing the street, shows evidence of remodelling in the early 20th century with two cross-windows with glazing bars to the ground floor, and an angled oriel window with casement lights above. The gable end has a shaped gable with a square urn finial. The interior remains uninspected. Mouseham is situated close to Littleham and flanks the drive leading to Ladyham.
