Description

These are a group of early 18th-century buildings located on the east side of College Square in Stokesley. Numbers 43 and 44 are constructed of brick, while the remaining buildings are rendered. The roofs are steeply pitched, covered with pantiles, and feature brick chimneys to the left, with chimneys at numbers 43 and 46 having been replaced with concrete tiles. The buildings consist of two through-passage double houses, with boarded doors in the central passage.

Each building has two storeys and one wide bay. The windows have modern glazing, with the exception of two original Yorkshire sash windows on the upper floor of number 43. Early 19th-century reeded and paterae doorcases are present, and number 43 retains its original door from that period. The buildings are included on the list for group value considerations.
