Description

These are two 18th-century buildings on Westgate. They are two storeys and have attics, constructed of painted brick. Number 16 has cement pantiles for roofing, while Number 18 has a mix of pantiles and tiles. Each building has one dormer window added later. Each has one window with slightly segmental brick arches; only Number 18 retains its original glazing bars. Number 16 features a 19th-century shop front with wooden pilasters and a doorway accessed by steps, including a foot scraper. Number 18 has a more modern ground floor. Numbers 2 to 22 (even), including Number 20B, form a group on Westgate.
