Description

These are two early 18th century buildings on Westgate, with painted brickwork to number 14 and rough rendering to number 12. They have a dentil eaves cornice and three dormers in the roof; one dormer has a sliding sash window with glazing bars, while the other two have modern casements. Number 12 has two windows on the first floor, with modern canted oriels of three lights. Number 14 has four-light casements. The ground floor of number 12 has been modernised; number 14 features a small 19th century shop window with wood pilasters and a cornice, set on a plinth. It also has a modern glass door and a rectangular fanlight above. The buildings are part of a wider group that includes numbers 2 to 22 (even), including number 20B.
