Description
Skaife Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with a mid-19th century addition. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two stories high and has a three-bay main block with a two-story projecting wing on the left side. The building has quoins and a central four-panel door with a plain overlight, set within a plain surround and framed by a gabled porch supported by cast-iron columns.
The main block has flat-faced mullion windows with three lights on both the ground and first floors, and a round-arched window with a projecting keystone and imposts at the center of the first floor. The right side features a shaped kneeler and gable coping, along with shaped stone gutter brackets and banded end stacks.
The left wing has a gable end with flat-faced mullion windows, consisting of four lights on the ground floor and three lights above, as well as a single-light window on the right return. It also has shaped kneelers, gable coping, and a banded lateral stack on the left. At the rear of the main range, there is a doorway on the right, two-light windows on the ground floor to the left and first floor to both the left and right, and a tall staircase window with a transom in the center. The interior was not inspected as the building was boarded up at the time of resurvey. An attached barn range to the right of the wing is not included in the listing.
