Description
The barn, which was formerly a farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed from coursed and dressed rubble stone, featuring ashlar dressings and stone slate roofs. The gables are coped with ashlar and have kneelers, along with quoins.
On the north front, there are two doorways to the right with flush ashlar surrounds and a single similar doorway to the left, which is next to a round-headed archway. In the center, an external stone staircase leads to a loft door, also with a flush ashlar surround. There are single loft openings on either side of this staircase. The south front has a single doorway to the left and another to the right, which is now partly blocked, both with flush ashlar surrounds. Above these doorways, there is a central single light chamfered window, with a former two-light chamfered mullion window to the right and a loft opening with a flush ashlar surround to the left.
Inside, at the east end, there are feeding stalls with ashlar walls that have regular openings for feeding.
