Description
Numbers 1 and 2 Bridge Houses are a pair of houses dated 1703, with some changes made in 1766. They are built from coursed squared gritstone and have a graduated stone slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of four bays.
Number 1, on the left, features a 6-panel door with tie-stone jambs and a shaped doorhead. To the right of the door, there are inscribed quoins that read "1703 MO." The house has paired sash windows with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds, featuring flat-faced mullions on both floors, located to the left and far left.
Number 2 has a 6-panel door with a lintel inscribed "JD 1766." Above this door is a sash window with glazing bars, and there are paired windows similar to those on Number 1 at the far right. Both houses have shaped kneelers, gable copings, and a ridge stack located between them and at each gable end. There is a barn attached to the left, but it is not included in the listing.
