The Cottage And 3 Houses Adjoining To North

The Cottage and three houses adjoining to the north are a row of four cottages built in the early 19th century, with later alterations. They are constructed from hammer-dressed limestone and have a pantile roof. The row consists of three single-cell cottages and one two-cell cottage with a central entry. The buildings are two storeys high and feature five first-floor windows.

The first cottage on the left has a 20th-century door and a casement window, while the second cottage has a boarded door beneath a keyed wedge lintel and a casement window. The third cottage features a half-glazed door flanked by two-light Yorkshire sash windows. The fourth cottage has a six-fielded-panel door and a three-light Yorkshire sash window beneath a common timber lintel. On the first floor, the first and second cottages have casement windows, while the third and fourth cottages have two-light Yorkshire sash windows. There is evidence that the eaves have been raised, except for the fourth cottage. The row includes end and ridge stacks and is noted for its group value.
