Description

Tarrs Cottages is a row of four cottages with a cross wing that contains three additional cottages at the rear. They date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are constructed from limestone rubble brought to course, topped with a pantile roof. The cottages are direct-entry single-cell types, standing two storeys high with four windows on the first floor. Most have board doors, except for one on the left which is made of hardboard. The ground floor features two-light Yorkshire sashes, and the openings have wedge lintels. The first floor also has two-light Yorkshire sashes. Notable architectural details include sprocketed eaves, banded end and ridge stacks, and a rounded corner at the rear right of the front wing.
