Description
The Blacksmiths Arms is a public house dating from the late 18th century, with 20th-century additions at the rear. It is constructed from hammer-dressed limestone and features a pantile roof. Originally, it consisted of two houses built together, with two cross wings at the rear. The building has two storeys and four first-floor windows arranged in a 1:3 pattern. On the left side, there is a six-fielded-panel door with a divided overlight, and to the right, another six-fielded-panel door flanked by four-pane sash windows. The first floor also has four-pane sash windows. The building features keyed channelled wedge lintels throughout, gable coping, shaped kneelers, and end stacks. Inside, there is a large fireplace with a keyed elliptical arch.
