Description
This is a row of four cottages located at 44-50 West End, dating from the early 19th century. The cottages are built of ashlar stone and feature a pantile roof. They are two storeys high and consist of four bays in total, with each cottage being a single bay. The buildings have quoins, and the doorcases are paired. Cottages 50 and 48 have board doors with plain lintels, while cottages 46 and 44 have half-glazed doors with similar lintels. All windows are 20th-century casements set in the original openings, complete with stone sills and plain lintels, except for the first-floor window of cottage 44, which is a 12-pane side-sliding sash. The ground-floor window of cottage 44 has been lowered. The row features a shaped kneeler, stone coping, and an end stack to the right, along with one brick ridge stack.
