HARTWITH-CUM-WINSLEY CHAPEL LANE (west side) Hartwith Memorial to Alice and Jonas Walbank approximately 20 metres south of Church of St Jude

Memorial. Dated 1821 and 1832. Sandstone. Inscribed stone flanked by carved panels with fan and rosette motifs, solid end and top panels. Fine fluted and moulded decoration. Inscription deeply cut: "SACRED' / To the Memory of Alice the wife of / Jonas Walbank of Brimham Lodge, who died / April 26th 1821 Aged 45 years. / Also the above named Jonas Walbank who died / April 24th 1832 Aged 58 Years. / Children dear for us do not weep. / Since we in Christ do sweetly sleep. / We leave the World, a World of Pain. / in Bliss assur'd to rise again."
