Description

The Watkins Memorial is an altar tomb located about 14 metres northeast of the chancel in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints in Newland. It commemorates Susanna Watkins, who died in 1820. The memorial is made of sandstone and features a square shape with a moulded capping and plinth. It has a stiff acanthus frieze and gadrooned quarter balusters. The top is square and has two tiers, rising to a pyramidal finial. There are oval inscription panels with small oval florettes in the corners. This memorial is included for its group value with the Pratt memorial, with which it is virtually identical.
