Description
The Lecturage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a roughcast exterior and a stone slate hipped roof with a central slate well, along with two rendered cruciform stacks at the sides on the ridge. The building has a double range design with a single-storey extension on the right. It stands two storeys tall, with an attic and cellar. The facade includes three 12-pane sash windows, three gabled dormers with paired casements, and a central door that has a flat stone hood supported by consoles and a moulded architrave. The door itself is made of studded oak. Inside, there is some original 17th-century joinery, including an oak dog-leg staircase, a chamfered and stopped doorcase on the first floor, and chamfered oak beams throughout all floors. A large stone lintel fireplace can be found in the ground floor room on the left, which also retains some internal timber-framed walling.
