Description

This stable, located approximately 3 metres north-east of Well House, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with quoins at the corners. The central entrance consists of a board door set within a quoined surround, topped by a lintel inscribed 'Rebuilt by W.R. 17?3'. To the left of the door is a window with quoined jambs, a plain sill, and a plain lintel. The first floor has a square pitching door in the centre, also with quoined jambs, a plain sill, and a plain lintel. The stable is finished with shaped kneelers and gable coping.
