KIRKBYMOORSIDE CHURCH STREET (north side) Monument approximately 18 metres south of the porch of All Saints Church

Chest monument. Mid C19, For Harriette Soweray, died 1846. Sandatone. Gothic Revival style. Chest with pitched and gabled top stands on stepped plinth and has sunk quatrefoils containing foliate crosses on each side. Horizontal band of nailhead moulding around the upper edge of the chest and vertical bands to corners. The inscription runs around the lower edge of the upper part of the tomb, which has recessed trefoil-headed arches on colonettes in each gable end. The gable ends and ridge were originally crocketed.
