Description
Rose Cottage and Holly Cottage are late 18th century or early 19th century buildings located in Sandsend, Lythe. They are constructed from coursed squared stone and feature pantiled roofs that are stone-coped with square kneelers, along with central and end brick chimneys. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of one window on the left side of Rose Cottage and four windows on the right side.
The right end of Rose Cottage has been converted from a former farm building. Holly Cottage features 3-light glazing-bar windows with a small central opening light and a boarded door. The ground floor lintels of Holly Cottage have keystones. Rose Cottage has small first-floor casements with glazing bars, slightly larger windows below, and a boarded door, along with a subsidiary door on the right side. The ground floor lintels of Rose Cottage also have keystones.
