Description

Rigg Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of 18th-century cottages located on the south side of Mount Pleasant in Sandsend, Lythe. They are constructed from coursed squared stone. One cottage has a pantiled roof, while the other has been renewed with modern concrete tiles but still features stone copings and square kneelers. Both cottages have end brick chimneys and stand two storeys high with a total of three windows. The windows include some small 20th-century casements with glazing bars and two tripartite early 19th-century windows with small opening lights. The entrances are marked by plain boarded doors.
