Description

This is a 19th-century iron milestone located 200 meters west of the Glusburn Institute on the south side of Colne Road. The milestone is shaped like a triangular prism with a semi-circular top. It features the inscription "Blackburn Addingham and Cocking End Road - Glusburn." The left panel indicates distances to Colne (8 miles) and Burnley (14 miles), while the right panel lists distances to Keighley (5¼ miles), Addingham (7 miles), and Ilkley, although the last entry is illegible.
