Description

Ryecroft Farm Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to 1752, with later 18th or early 19th century additions. It is constructed of squared rubble with a stone slate roof. The long facade extends over two storeys and features three doorways clustered near the centre, with two windows on each storey to either side. The windows are 3-light stone mullion windows, with the mullions recessed on the left-hand side, but flush on the right-hand side. Two doorways are plain, but the central one is chamfered and has a massive lintel. There are four chimneys. A single 2-light double chamfered stone mullion window, lacking a mullion, is found in the left-hand gable. Inside, a stone fireplace with lintel is finely inscribed with "William Bawdwen Junior 1752". William Bawdwen lived at Stone Gappe, Lothersdale CP.
