Description

This is a milestone located 150 metres south of the entrance to Manor House Farm in Silsden. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and features an arched stone structure that is overlaid with cast iron, giving it a triangular shape. The lettering on the milestone is in relief. The top of the milestone reads: "BLACKBURN ADDINGHAM & COCKING END ROAD SILSDEN." The left face indicates "KEIGHLEY ADDINGHAM," while the right face shows distances to various locations: "5 ¾ MILES 2 MILES BURNLEY ILKLEY 19 MILES 5¼ MILES."
