Description

Bent Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1658, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar stone above the first floor windows, where the roof has been raised. The building features a stone slate roof and has two chimneys. It is two storeys high.

On the entrance side, there is a contemporary outshut that includes a three-light double chamfered window, with two originally two-light windows above it. The rear side has ground floor windows that are double chamfered and set under a string course. These windows lack mullions but were originally four, six, and two lights, with the central window interrupted by a plain doorway. Above these windows, there are flush square mullioned windows.

To the left, the former stable has a three-light double chamfered stone mullion window that was brought from an outbuilding at Crag Farm on West Lane. Inside, on the upper floor, there is a circular plaster panel over a fireplace featuring a stylised motif of grapes. The initials "WAB" on the datestone, which serves as the lintel of the doorway, stand for William and Anne Barrett.
