Description

Town End Cottage is a mid-18th century cottage located on the north side of High Street, Burton in Lonsdale. It is constructed of rubble stone, brought to course, with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance is distinguished by a plain surround and features a five-panel door, with the upper panel glazed. The ground floor has two three-light recessed, flat-faced mullioned windows, while the upper floor has three similar windows; a combination of sash and fixed lights are used. A central and right-hand ridge stack is present.
