Description

Orchard Cottage is a cottage dated 1724, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of cobbled, coursed rubble stone with painted stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The two-storey, double-fronted building has an entrance with a plain surround and lintel featuring a moulded panel and the initials “S RI” and the date 1724; it has a glazed door fitted in the 1970s. To the left is a 19th-century ground-floor window with a plain surround and a 1970s casement. To the right is a smaller, early 18th-century window, originally a two-light window with a plain surround and a missing mullion, now fitted with a 1970s casement. There are two similar windows on the upper floor.
