Description

Fern Lea is a former police house, now a residential home, built around the 1830s. The building features squared coursed rubble with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys tall and has a double fronted design. The entrance has a plain surround and a 20th-century door, along with a rectangular fanlight above. On each floor, there are two windows with plain surrounds and sashes that include glazing bars. There are also traces of a blocked central window in the stonework of the upper floor. The building is accented with chamfered quoins and has a ridge stack located on the left side.
