Description
This is a row of six houses located at 86 to 94 North Marine Road. Constructed around 1830, they are similar in style to the properties at numbers 60 to 84, although without basements. The houses are three storeys high and built of dark red brick, with two-bay fronts featuring three-story bowed frontages. These bows have tripartite sash windows, with single sashes positioned above the entrances. The bows are characterised by plain dividing strips between the window lights, a stucco band above a wooden frieze, and a projecting moulded eaves cornice that extends over the bow. The roofs are low-pitched and covered in slate. Number 86 has had the ground floor of its bow replaced with a rectangular shop front, featuring an entablature and a corner entrance. The front doors are of four moulded panels, topped with rectangular fanlights, and are set within Greek Doric doorcases with entablatures. The houses form a group with numbers 85 to 116.
