Description

This is a row of six red brick houses, numbered 47 to 55, built around 1830 to 1840. They are located on the north side of Falsgrave Road. Each house has two storeys and two bays. A two-storey segmental bow window projects from the left-hand side, and a three-pane sash window is above the entrance on the right. The houses have a stone plinth and a flat, moulded eaves cornice that extends over the bow windows. The roof is covered with slate and has a low pitch. The bow windows feature tripartite sash windows with flat stucco arches and intact glazing bars. The entrance doors are made of four fielded panels, each with a two-pane rectangular fanlight above. The doorcases consist of panelled pilasters and an entablature. Nos 29 to 73 (odd), and the front walls of Nos 29 to 45 (odd) form a group.
