Description
The Fitzwilliam Estate Office is a terrace of three cottages, now used as an office and cottage, built in 1834. It features rusticated sandstone on a chamfered plinth and has a pantile roof with coped crow-stepped gables and five ashlar ridge stacks. The building is 1.5 stories high with a five-bay front, which is flanked by offset buttresses.
Starting from the left end, the second bay contains a six-panel door set in a Gibbsian surround, flanked by single-pane sash windows. The fourth bay has a six-panel door with a divided overlight, set in a quoined and chamfered surround with a plain lintel, and a single-pane sash window to the right. The fifth bay features a six-panel door with an overlight beneath a flat arch made of voussoirs, along with a single-pane sash window to the right. The remaining windows consist of two or three mullioned lights. Each bay has a crow-stepped gabled half dormer with a two-light mullioned window. The window mullions and reveals are ovolo-moulded. A date can be seen on the weather-vane located at the rear of the roof towards the left end.
