Description

Mile-post from the late 19th century, made of cast iron and triangular in shape. On the left side, there is a hand pointing right with the inscription "BEDALE 7 MILES." On the right side, a hand points left with the inscription "LEYBURN 4 MILES." The top features the letters "LEYBURN H D." This mile-post dates from after the Highways Act of 1888.
