Description
The Constable Burton Church of England School, dated 1839, is a single-story school building constructed of rusticated coursed sandstone with a Welsh slate roof. It has two main bays, a lower central gabled porch, and a lower rear range. Quoins are present, and the front wall of the porch utilizes different coloured stone. The building features 4-centred arched openings, with a leaved, board and studded door set within the porch, and a plaque displaying the date above. A bellcote sits atop the gable. The windows contain two four-centred arched lights. Architectural details include shaped kneelers and ashlar copings. The building is included on the list for its group value.
