Description

This is a mile-post from the late 19th century, made of cast iron and triangular in shape. On the left side, there is a hand pointing right with the inscription "BEDALE 6 MILES," while the right side features a hand pointing left with "LEYBURN 5 MILES." The top of the mile-post reads "LEYBURN H D." This structure dates from after the Highways Act of 1888.
