EAST WITTON TOWN EAST WITTON (north side) Stable Block, approximately 5 metres to west of The Vicarage

GV II

Stable block. Early C19. Coursed rubble, artificial slate roof. 2 storeys. Central carriage opening with segmental arch of ashlar voussoirs with imposts, springers and keystone, all with herring-bone tooling with draughted margins. Doorways in each corner with ashlar lintels, to left leaved stable door; to right 6-panel door. First floor: two 2-light windows. hipped roof. Small stack at right end. Steps up to hay-loft on left return. Included for group value.
