Stable-Block And Attached Kitchen Garden Wall 50 Metres North Of Old Rectory

The stable-block, built in the late 18th century, is located 50 metres north of the Old Rectory. It features dressed stone on the eastern side and brick walls arranged in Flemish bond, topped with a slate roof that has tiled ridges and gable ends. The structure is one storey high with a loft above and includes four wooden cross-transom casement windows, which are adorned with ashlar voussoirs. A round arch above the stable door has a recessed tympanum area, while the carriage entrance has a segmental head with ashlar voussoirs and a projecting key. Attached to the stable-block is the kitchen garden wall, which creates a rectangular enclosure measuring 30 metres by 30 metres. This wall is constructed of rubble stone with brick quoins and brick copings, and the south wall is entirely made of brick.
