Description
The stable block, located 10 meters northwest of the Rectory, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from Ham stone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof with coped gables. The roof has a louvred ventilator with a windvane positioned off-center on the ridge. This single-storey building has a loft and consists of five bays. The first and second bays have 4-centred keystoned arches with shaped casements that contain small panes. The third bay is open, while the fourth and fifth bays have plain doors. Garage doors have been cut into the lower windows of bay two, and there is a loft door in the gable of bay three. An outbuilding that matches the stable block is situated on the west side of the stable yard, which is enclosed by a wall featuring a square gate pier that stands 2.5 meters high and has a moulded pyramidal cap. 20th-century buildings connect the stables to the house on the east side. This stable block is an important addition to the Rectory.
