Description
The attached service ranges, located west of the Manor House, date from the early to late 18th century. They include a spring-house, bakehouse, and coal-store that run parallel to the main house, along with an outbuilding and privy that are positioned at right angles on the west side. The structures feature red brick walls, some of which include burnt headers, and are topped with slate roofs.
The spring-house contains a stone trough and a culverted overflow beneath it. The bakehouse is equipped with a bread-oven that has a wooden lintel and brick jambs. In the north-east corner of the group, the privy has stone gable-copings on its roof and features a culverted sewer below with brick vaults. Inside the privy, there are two wooden seats with lids. The outbuilding showcases pilaster-buttresses, and its roof includes purlins that are trenched into the rafter soffits and bolted, with collars bolted above the purlin level.
Additionally, there is a brick wall that connects the south-west corner of the house to the gable-end of the outbuilding, creating a service yard.
