Description
This stable block, dating from the 18th century, is located 40 meters north of The Old Rectory. It is constructed from reused dressed stone blocks, brick, and features an old plain tile roof. The building is a one-and-a-half storey structure with four bays, set on a plinth with an off-set dressed stone base. In the second bay from the right, there is a wide segmental-headed stable door from the 18th century, with a hay loft door above it. Each side of this door features an 18th-century segmental-headed two-light leaded casement window. The stable door in the left bay has been replaced by 20th-century timber garage doors. The stone used in the construction may have come from Cheriton or possibly Beauworth church, following a fire or demolition.
